License Plates

1.Clearly print all requested information on the application form.

2.Use one form for each vehicle.

3.Attach the required military documents. Military license plates will not be issued without the required documentation.

4.Do not send fees with the application. You will be billed or you may include your MasterCard or Visa number and card expiration date.

5.Credit will be given for unexpired registration fees when special plates are issued before an applicant’s current registration is expired.

Note: Foreign money orders or cashiers checks must have either “U.S. Funds” or “Payable in U.S. Funds” printed on them.

Disabled Veteran

No fees required for eligible veterans. Applicants must be veterans with a 100% service connected permanent disability. Call the Veterans Administration Regional Office in Boise, Idaho at (208) 429-2145 or (800)

827-1000 to find out if you meet eligibility requirements and to request a Disabled Veteran Plate Eligibility Letter. You may also visit their office at 550 West Fort Street in Boise. Limited to one set.

Gold Star Family

Families who have a deceased relative who died as a result of hostile action in a combat zone while serving on active duty in the U.S. military are eligible for this plate program.

Eligibility Verification Process

As proof of eligibility, the applicant shall furnish to the Idaho Transportation Department a completed form GS001 from the Idaho Division of Veterans Services (IDVS).
