Upon approval, a new driver's license with the motorcycle endorsement will be sent to you at the out-of-state address listed below.

Misconceptions

Misconceptions about the ITD 3063 form can lead to confusion for applicants. Here are ten common misunderstandings, along with clarifications to help ensure a smooth application process.

  1. Only residents of Idaho can apply for the motorcycle endorsement. This is incorrect. The form is specifically for Idaho residents who are temporarily living out of state.
  2. You can apply for the endorsement if your driving privileges are suspended. This is false. If your driving privileges are withdrawn in any jurisdiction, your application will be denied.
  3. The form can be submitted electronically without any hard copies. This is misleading. You must send a certified or notarized copy of your Motorcycle Safety Foundation card along with your application.
  4. There is no fee for applying for the endorsement. This is not true. A fee of $15.00 is required when submitting the application.
  5. You can receive the endorsement without a physical address. This is incorrect. A physical address is necessary for the FedEx delivery option, and USPS will also require a mailing address.
  6. All applicants must be U.S. citizens to apply. This is a misconception. Non-citizens can apply but must provide their Alien Registration Number and lawful presence documents.
  7. The application process is the same for all states. This is misleading. Each state has different requirements and processes for motorcycle endorsements.
  8. You can use cash to pay the fee. This is incorrect. Payments must be made via check, money order, or credit card; cash is not accepted.
  9. Once you submit the form, you will receive your endorsement immediately. This is not accurate. It typically takes about three weeks to receive your new driver's license with the endorsement.
  10. Temporary licenses can be sent to a P.O. Box. This is false. FedEx cannot deliver to a P.O. Box; a physical address is required for delivery.

Understanding these points can help applicants navigate the ITD 3063 form process more effectively. Ensuring that all requirements are met will facilitate a smoother experience in obtaining a motorcycle endorsement.
